Before you leave for the Winter Break please address the following precautions from DPS Facility Management:
Holiday Reminder for Principals(Of Interest to All Principals)
As you are thinking about the upcoming holiday break, please be thinking about leaving your building protected for hard freezes. Your Facility Manager has been instructed on what to do but they need your help. Many schools have plumbing on exterior walls. These sinks and water lines are almost always contained in built in cabinets. During the holiday break, the cabinet doors must be left open to get the full warmth of the room circulating around the pipes and fittings. Please assist us in preventing water line freezing and make sure that all such cabinet doors are left open. This same request is made for any freeze alert that is sent from the Service Center to the schools and departments.
All appliances, computers and printers should be turned off and unplugged. Laptops should be secured and out of sight. All space heaters must be unplugged.
