Manuel Molina is a huge supporter of Emily Griffith's Block Party last year and still is a major part of our program. The Event Management students are involved in the planning of this spectacular Carnival event and I would like to extend the invitation to the staff.

I have been given authorization from Christine to promote this function.

Thank you!

Summer School

From: Gilhooly, Lou Ann Subject: For the Update EGOS Staff, I have received a couple of inquiries about summer school from the EGOS staff which prompted me to share the answer with the entire school. Due to significant budget reductions, there will be no high school diploma classes this summer. Consideration is being given to offering abbreviated GED summer school classes for high school and adult students. (Lou Ann)

SHHRP Opportunity Fair

From: Tandy Reyes
Subject: SHHRP Opportunity Fair

Staff…Please share the following and attachment with your students and anyone you know who might be interested.

Hi Everyone,
Please come dressed to impress and network with everyone.
Take a look at the attached flyer to see which employers will be in attendance on March 17th. You can check out their websites to see what openings they have and maybe do some online applications prior to the event. Parking for this event is on your own…meters, pay lots, etc. Since this event is in a tight parking area you may consider alternate transportation i.e. car pooling, riding the bus, walking, etc.
Hope to see you there!

Lockdown Drill

EGOS Staff,

Most areas of the building performed well today during the lockdown drill and the building was secured within 5 minutes. However, there were a few trouble spots.

They were:

*Some individuals were visible from the door.
*Some classes did not take cover and class continued as usual.

Debra Gonzales would like to know of offices or classrooms where the announcement was not audible.

As a reminder, please review the emergency procedures regularly and have a hard copy of the procedures handy for review during a drill.

Green Job Placement Form

This is for program instructors.

Teachers…
Please have your students fill out the green job placement form if they haven’t already done so. You can find these forms in the Treasurer’s office under the clock. Once they have completed this form they don’t need to do it again unless their info has changed. Please have students print clearly and fill out forms completely.

Email addresses are vital and will ensure that students receive job leads and other information on job fairs, career workshops, etc. Information is for Emily Griffith Opportunity School use only and will be kept confidential.

Please return completed forms to Tandy Reyes.
Teachers, if you are not receiving these emails from the Career Development Center please let me know and I’ll add you to the list.
Also, if you know where a former student is working, let us know. Placement info is vital to keeping our programs!
Thank you for your assistance!
