Dear staff,
A couple weeks ago the fire inspector walked through EGOS and provided recommendations for fire safety compliance.
Department Deans/Director and facilities have been given a list of the infractions and will share that information with you.
Some items that you can take care of right away, are the following.
·Please do not plug extension cords and surge protectors into each other (daisy chain) and then into the wall outlet. In some cases, solutions are easy, and we simply needed to unplug a surge protector and go directly into the wall!
·Please remove all items from classroom doors
·If you’d like to post items near a door, please do so at least 18” from the door.
·Walls may have 50% or less student work (or information) attached to them
·**This is new. We are not supposed to have any cloths or plastic table cloths covering anything in the classrooms unless they have a “fire retardant” label sewn on to the fabric.
There may be a few other unique things to take care of, please speak with your dean/director.
Thanks for helping us take care of these items. The fire inspector will be back around November 15.
