Instructional Academy
During Professional Development Day, faculty and staff were asked to indicate if they would be interested in participating in workshops related to technology. We compiled your interest responses and have scheduled some workshops. At this time, we have the dates and locations. In the near future, we will publish workshop descriptions. All workshops will be held 3-5 pm. Most workshops will be six hours (three sessions of two hours each), but could be extended, if needed.
Following are descriptions for the Technology Workshops offered through the Instructional Academy. Please contact Jan Raymond at ext. 34721 or email jan_raymond@dpsk12.org to register. More information will be provided regarding courses offered through DOTs.

PHOTO STORY--November 18, December 2, 9------Parthum Lab
Katie Collins
Bring your digital photos to life with Photo Story 3 for Windows. This free, easy-to-use program allows you to create a photo slide show. With a single click, you can touch-up, crop or rotate pictures. Then, add special effects, upload songs to accompany the slide show and personalize your pictures with titles and captions. The file size makes it easy to send your photo stories in an email. In this 3-session class you will be able to upload photos you want to use in your photo story (please bring them on a flash drive), or search for photos on line that would assist you in teaching a certain topic in the classroom. We will also learn to rotate/crop and add captions and special effects. The following session we will explore royalty-free songs to use and discuss copyright issues for other types of songs. We will finalize our projects during this second session. Our third session will be sharing our projects with each other to help us get even more ideas for how to use this in our classrooms.
