Emily Griffith on Facebook and Twitter

Emily Griffith Opportunity School now has its own Facebook and Twitter accounts! Facebook and Twitter are both social media (definition at bottom) tools that allow for easy communication to our students and community. These pages will be linked to the homepage of our website.

Through these mediums we can:

  • Market our programs: start and end dates, new programs
  • Announce changes in programs/classes
  • Market our services: deli, barbering, cosmetology, esthetician, tax service
  • Announce graduations
  • Send announcements and invitations for special events
  • Link to free advice for job hunting
  • Communicate snow days, vacations, holidays, and breaks

Support this form of communication by:

  • Becoming a “fan” of Emily Griffith Opportunity School on Facebook or becoming a “follower” on Twitter
  • Sending your ideas of what to post on Facebook/Twitter to Christine_Hill@dpsk12.org and/or Frank_Aguilar@dpsk12.org
  • Commenting on our posts or posting your own
  • Suggesting that supporters of Emily Griffith Opportunity School be a “fan” on Facebook and be a “follower” on Twitter

I just tried to view these sites and got a notice from DPS that social networking sites are not allowed on our computers.

Thank you for your comment. Yes, unfortunately DPS does not give us access to Facebook because it is a social networking site. I've had to request special access for the sake of communicating to our students and community. However, Twitter should be accessible from our network and computers.
