A HUGE "thank you" and recognition is in order for one of our awesome co-workers who truly went above and beyond the call of duty to assist a student in need. Kate and I have been working with a young man whose family is in a difficult financial situation. Upon further investigation, we found out the student was in a considerable amount of physical pain due to sleeping on the floor at the family’s home.
Around this same time period, Kate received an email at Jewish Family Services from a gentleman that wanted to donate a bed in great condition. Last Friday Kate and her husband tied the bed to the top of their SUV and delivered it to the student's home - WOW!! The student and his mother were very appreciative of the bed which included frame, mattress, box spring, and even a full set of sheets. All the credit goes to Kate for having such a big heart and a willingness to help a student in need.
