Join the party on February 12 in honor of the birthdate of our founder. Cake will be served by the registration area at 10:00 am and 6:00 pm.
In remembrance of Emily’s tradition of serving soup in 1916, we will be offering soup to all guests and students at 12:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
The Student Success Center will celebrate with Emily by offering cake and punch throughout the day. Please stop by to sign the extra large Emily’s Birthday Card with messages of thanks. The card will be displayed throughout the month of February to keep Emily’s sprit alive. Come and join us at 11:00 for an open forum with Executive Director Les Lindauer.
A Community Building Workshop will take place at noon with Nick Sarchet, a Social Network Specialist.
All faculty and staff members are encouraged to stop by the student success center to receive complementary staff ID badges and share your thoughts on how to better serve our students.

"Emily Griffith loved to interact with foreign students. In a speech given in 1927, she commented, "I like to think of the foreigners who come to us. They need a friend as much as they need English." She recalled one Italian girl, a student at Opportunity School, who told her, "I never used to look at your moon. I always thought about the moon in Italy. Last summer for the first time...your moon was my moon; your stars were my stars."
